2 Challenges.

Gosh it was lovely last night just pottering about not having a deadline for anything. I made a card and ATC for the Saturday challenges which I like to take part in. Sorry that I haven't been leaving as many comments as I usually do but with Toms chicken pox and making the ring cushion I have been short on time this week. Tom is much better, he has a lot of scabs now but is back to his cheeky self.
So onto the challenges.

Over on the Secret Crafter it was your favourite colour. Mine is anything purple. I got this set of stickers from Pamela who is my pen friend. She got them in a magazine but doesn't use FF stuff and knew I loved it so thanks Pamela. I love silver too so put a wee bit of silver ribbon behind the flowers on the ATC.
This is the card for Sketch Saturday. This is my MIL's card for Mothers Day. I wonder how many of us have used this sketch for the card for our Mums.??? Margaret just adores butterflies so I used the papers and die cuts which came free in the Creative Card making Magazine last month.
Well off to get in with the day. Alan had to go to work but is nipping into Asda on the way home to get some yummy curries for us all. If you get a Sunday paper he is in Scotland on Sunday in the Spectrum Magazine this week talking about being an obsessive Doctor Who fan!!! Page 12-16 Must say his picture is very good. I could quite fancy him. LOL
Have a very Happy Mothers Day,

Busy Afternoon making cards.

Gosh don't know about where you are but it is very windy here in Arbroath today. Its a shame as Jake wanted to go out on his bike but couldn't due to the high winds. I have made 2 cards and an ATC for some challenges so here we go with them.

This is for Tilda and Friends where the challenge was to make an ATC "One for the Boys" Thought Edwin looked like he might like to play on the beach so here he is with his ball.

This one is for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge where it is Have your Cake and Eat it. Well you can't have a birthday without a cake and wee Candyfloss is holding a really yummy looking one.

This card is done using the sketch from Sketch Saturday and can also be entered into the Lili of the Valley Challenge which is Mothers Day. I didn't use any LOTV stuff on it. Sorry :-((
This is for my Mum to give to Granny for her Mothers Day next week. Gosh time is flying and I really must get mine done too.
Well off to do some housework now. Just feel like I am going round in circles again today. Grrr I have another card to make for my Mum but it is a Sympathy one and I am struggling with it. Sometimes they are so hard to make. Think it is cause I was out at Granny's this morning and am thinking about my Grandad a lot now. Tom said he would be cold in the garden and now I just keep thinking of him. (His ashes are in the garden as it was his pride and joy). It is getting easier as the time goes by but we all still miss him loads. I have stopped reading about poor Jade Goody as it is bringing things back to me about his last few days. Gosh it is 7 months ago but feels like yesterday at times.
Anyway sorry for the moan.
Have a lovely Saturday whatever you are up too.

The Secret Crafter Challenge.

This week it is Masking over on the Saturday Challenge. I think I might have gone over the top with it though??? I have used it for the background of my card. The stamp is a Dawn Bibby Acrylic one. Not sure if I like it or not. Might grow on me.
  • 5 x 5 Card
  • Dawn Bibby Acrylic Stamp
  • Thanks You stamp
  • Adirondack Inks in Denim Wild Plum and Lettuce
  • Ribbon and Brad from stash.

Well its a funny old day here. I don't feel like I have done much. Just feel like I am going round in circles. Jake is away out playing (Thank Goodness) as we are going through a bad ADHD patch with him again. I say black he says white. Grrrr. Think teenage hormones might be to blame too as he seems to be growing up very quickly just now. He is just going to be 12 in May but has grown about 4 inched in the last 6 months!!!

Off now to get on with some housework, Enjoy the rest of Saturday,

Luv and Huggys Hazelxox

4 Challenge cards in 1 Post

Well I am posting the 4 cards I have done over the last couple of days together as it is sore to type much. ? What I have done to my right shoulder and neck but it hurts to be on the computer too long. Think I knotted it last Sat night at the Vets and its not recovered then made it worse by playing on the computer .
Top Card is a sketch by ~Jill over at TheSecret Crafter Saturday Challenge. I haven't made a Christmas CArd for a couple of weeks so thought I had better catch up with myself!

This Card is for The Forever Friends Challenge where the challenge was Black and White.

This card is from a sketch by Dawny P over on Papertake Weekly.

Finally this is my take on the Spoonful of Sugar Challenge where the Challenge was Shape Shifters which you had to make a card with a different shape to normal.
Sorry its a big post without much in it but I am getting sore again and want to be able to toss my pancakes for shrove Tuesday!!!
Thanks You for all comments. They are all appreciated. If you are giving something up for lent put it into the comments too. I am giving up chips, take aways and swearing!!!!!

Sketch Saturday and Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge.

Happy Valentines Day.
I have combined these 2 challenges this week as I have now got to make a card for Alan at some point in the day so thought I would get this done first. Argh I didn't expect to receive a Valentine card so it was a nice surprise to get it.
The theme on Secret Crafter this week is "Spring has Sprung" and I think of Daffodils straight away when it comes to spring. I love to see them popping their heads out of the ground and coming up and brightening the garden. We have some sprouting already and my snowdrops are in bloom. Its lovely.
  • Standard Light Green Card
  • See -D 's Daffodil Stamp
  • Papermania Bubble Embellishment
  • Paper Double sided from Red Hot Bed
  • Derwent Watercolour Pencils

Well off to chill out now as we are going to one of Alan's friends houses tonight for a karaoke and I get in such a tizzy with going out. We have also been up since 6am with Jake. Bad ADHD day. He is away out on his bike so that should use up some of the energy. Wish I could bottle it and sell it. LOL Have a lovely Valentines Day all,

Hazel xo

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge and Fab's Christmas Card Challenge.

The challenge was to create a card using recycling this week on the Secret Crafter. Boy have I pondered over what to do. Eventually thought about some ribbon which I had scavenged at Christmas from pressies. I think it looks great on the card and it didn't need much else so used my chrimbo stampendous stamp for it. So that is 5 cards down!!!! Fab's Challenge is to make a christmas card a week so that is now scored off the list for this week too!!! Gosh aren't the weeks just flying by!

  • 5x5 Card
  • Ribbon from presents
  • Stampendous Christmas Stamp
  • Glitter from stash.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge.

It is a recipe over on the Secret Crafter Challenge this week.
1,2,3
1 image, 2 papers and 3 embellishments.
My mojo is still on its break so I have made a wee ATC for the challenge as it is not too taxing on the brain.
I have used a Smirk. I just got them the other day. Ah isn't she so cute. Tom has called her Jelly. Think is it cause they feel like jelly as they are acrylic!
The card and papers are just off cuts which were lying on the craft desk. Really must tidy it up!!!
  • ATC
  • Papers from Stash
  • Smirk Stamp
  • Promarker
  • Sugar coated brads
  • Stickles Glitter Glue in Pink.

Off to search for the ever missing mojo. It is a lovely day here so might go for a wee walk with the kids this afternoon to clear my head.

Have a lovely Saturday Hazel xox

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge.

The Challenge this week was "Hearts". I don't seem to have much mojo for lovey dovey cards just now. Think I need a new hubby to sweep me off my feet. LOL!!!! So have made my Christmas card for the week!!! So that is 3 down now. (1 a week plan working!)

I have used a DCWV paper which has hearts on it. The stamp came this week from the Secret Crafter Online Shop. Have to give great praise as I ordered on Tuesday and the stamps arrived on Wednesday morning. A+++ www.secretcrafter.co.uk I didn't put any text onto the card as I felt it was busy enough with the stamp and paper.

  • A6 Card stock in light blue
  • DCWV Paper
  • Sarah Kay Stamp The Joy of Giving
  • Aqua Pro Markers
  • Mirri Board
  • Glitter Glue

Well off to make more cards with Tom this evening. He was making them for my dolls this afternoon. Poor dolls are all about 30 years old but still lovely. Tom seems to like playing with them where as Jake just used to pull their legs off!!!!

Scroll down to see some ATCs which are avaliable to swap. 3 and 8 are away but feel free to have a look at the rest.

Busy Morning for Me and Tom. 2 Challenges.

Well Tom and I have been busy this morning. Here is 2 Challenges for this morning. Tom helped with the Secret Crafter one as the Pencil holder is for him. So he helped to stick the stars onto it. His choice of colours for them too. The other one is Stamp Something.

Over on Stamp Something the challenge was to make a card without stamping. I made this card for my Friend who's Daughter had a baby on Monday. Made a new baby card earlier in the week so this is for Tracy and Derek.(Granny and Grandad!) Sadly it was confirmed on Thursday that baby Logan had Downs Syndrome, so he is an extra special wee man. He has been born into such a lovely family that they will cope with whatever life throws at them.

  • Jolly Nation Paper
  • Jolly Nation Teddy Decoupage
  • Peel Offs
  • Ribbon from stash

The second challenge of the morning was for the Secret Crafter. It was to make anything other than a card. Tom needed a pencil holder so this is what the pair of us made. Don't know if it counts since I had a wee helper. We both loved the shrink plastic. I have never used It before but thought a wee Paddington Bear would look cool on the holder. Tom decided on the stars he wanted put onto the holder so helped with that. At least his pens will all be in the same place now. He really loves to help make cards with me.

  • Empty Cotton Bud Container
  • Blue A4 Card
  • Letters free from magazine.
  • Paddington Bear Stamp (Free Gift in Magazine)
  • Versafine ink pad
  • Shrink Plastic
  • Watercolour Pencils
  • Peel Offs.

Well off to finish tidying up as Alan is due home from London in the next hour so better have a tidy house. LOL!!!

  • Embellishments and corrugated card from Lets Make Cards.
  • Dovecraft Paper
  • Peel Off Stickers
  • Silver Heart Brad
  • 3D Foam

Hope you like it. I am not too sure of it. Don't know if it is cause the card is purple.

2 Challenges in 1 Card.

Well Sorry for doing this as I don't like it as I love to make loads of cards but time is pressing just now. I have done the Sketch for Stamp Something and the Paper Piecing For The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge in 1 card.
The sketch was done by Emily. I inverted it accidentally as I must have done something funny with the printer.
I used my Tailor of Gloucester Stamp and then used some grey dovecraft paper for the newspaper, a small piece of silver card for the thimble and finally a piece of red paper for the thread as it had lines running through it and I thought it looked like thread. The dots at the side are Stickles Glitter glue. The text is from my box of Lets Make Cards stuff.
Well off to get on with the afternoon. Have a great evening. Watching the Strictly Come Dancing Final tonight. Really want Tom Chambers to win but think Rachel Stevens will. Keep Dancing, Hazel xox

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge.

This week on The Secret Crafter Challenge is a sketch by Donna. The DT cards are great as ever.
I have used another new stamp. This one is a Sarah Kay stamp. I have coloured her in again with my watercolour pencils. The background papers are all HOTP Christmas ones, I liked them though and thought they looked nice and bright. I used 3 gem flowers from my stash and also a peel off from it too.
The card is for my Mums birthday which is on the 30Th December so as well as buying Christmas gifts I need to remember to get her a birthday one too. Well off to deliver some Christmas cards this afternoon, Love
