On a Roll Today!!!!!!

Penny Black Challenge - Buttons and Bows
Sketch Saturday - Sketch
Secret Crafter Challenge- Colours of Autumn
Cupcake Challenge- Thanks a Bunch
So I have been a busy bunny this am with bits and pieces. Made this card in a spare wee while although have done some housework too and bough 2 huge Pumpkins for the boys to decorate and me make some soup with!!! I've not entered the Cupcake Challenge for ages and have never entered the Penny Black one before so thought I would combine this card to fit all 4.
Recipe
  • Cream Square Card
  • Papers from Stash (some freebies from magazines I think)
  • Penny Black image coloured with Watercolour Paint and Sakura Pens
  • Text from RAK but by SU
  • Ribbon and Buttons from stash
So off I go now to get the rest of Saturday sorted out. I am quite worried about my Gran today. She got a scratch on her leg last week from one of my Uncles Dogs and it is still very sore . Today her leg is really swollen and she can hardly weight bear on it. Mum went out this am and waited for 2 hours for NHS 24 to get back in touch with them as she phoned them as soon as she arrived. But they are really busy today. Poor Granny, she has been on antibiotics for 3 days but it seems so much worse.
Anyway off to see if there has been any news.

Sketch Saturday

I've not done Sketch Saturday Challenge for a while so thought I would do it this week. This card is for Alan who starts a run in the Play "It could be any one of us" tomorrow night. The play has 3 endings so it could be one of 3 people who has committed the murder every night. They will only know by a game of cards at the final scene! Hence the cards on the card!
  • 5 x 5 Card
  • Distressing Dots Funky Fairy's Papers
  • ATC Assistant for image and cards
  • Mirri card and peel off from stash.

Tilly the Cat is much better today my Mum tells me she had her tail up in the air again this morning, although she keeps licking the cream off her sore bits.

Bye For Now, Hazelxo

SKETCH SATURDAY

Morning All, its a really sunny day here today. I can't believe it after yesterdays weather.
I have combined 2 challenges here again. It was accidental and then I remembered that ABC was to have a metallic effect after I had made the card. I haven't used gold mirri card for ages but really like the effect on this one.

  • 5 x 5 Card
  • Handmade Paper
  • Card stock which was lying about
  • Lindsay Mason Stamp
  • Peel Offs

2 in 1 Card.

I have combined 2 challenges into this one card. I found Art Creation Friday a couple of weeks back and really like the pictures that they give you to make their challenge things. This week it the Wee Girl with the Easter Eggs.
The sketch is the Sketch for Sketch Saturday.
  • 5x5 Card
  • Free Paper s from Magazine. (Can't remember which one)
  • Gems from stash.

Right off now to take the huge pile of washing in. 4 loads with the kids being back!!! Seem to have got over the bug I had but now the Card bug has bitten me and I just want to do that!

Watching Doctor Who tonight with a Chip Shop tea as that is lent over. Steak Pie and Chips. Yummy.

Sketch Saturday.

This week over on sketch Saturday it is a sketch by Tracie. For some reason I seem to have missed this challenge last week. Oops. To much to do and too little time.
  • 5x5 Cream Stardream card
  • Free Downloaded Paper from Do-Crafts
  • Cherry Cat Stamp by Lindsay Mason
  • Flower gems and brad from stash

Well I was making this card when my paper trimmer blade started to munch on the paper rather than cut it. Argh. Wanted another blade today but sadly the local craft shop (Kitty Krafts) is out of stock. Spoke to Louise on the phone who was really helpful. I am going to try and make it up to Broughty Ferry to her shop to meet Lindsay Mason in a couple of weeks time. I can't wait and have stashed some money away so I can spend spend spend. My list is getting longer and longer!!!

2 Challenges.

Gosh it was lovely last night just pottering about not having a deadline for anything. I made a card and ATC for the Saturday challenges which I like to take part in. Sorry that I haven't been leaving as many comments as I usually do but with Toms chicken pox and making the ring cushion I have been short on time this week. Tom is much better, he has a lot of scabs now but is back to his cheeky self.
So onto the challenges.

Over on the Secret Crafter it was your favourite colour. Mine is anything purple. I got this set of stickers from Pamela who is my pen friend. She got them in a magazine but doesn't use FF stuff and knew I loved it so thanks Pamela. I love silver too so put a wee bit of silver ribbon behind the flowers on the ATC.
This is the card for Sketch Saturday. This is my MIL's card for Mothers Day. I wonder how many of us have used this sketch for the card for our Mums.??? Margaret just adores butterflies so I used the papers and die cuts which came free in the Creative Card making Magazine last month.
Well off to get in with the day. Alan had to go to work but is nipping into Asda on the way home to get some yummy curries for us all. If you get a Sunday paper he is in Scotland on Sunday in the Spectrum Magazine this week talking about being an obsessive Doctor Who fan!!! Page 12-16 Must say his picture is very good. I could quite fancy him. LOL
Have a very Happy Mothers Day,
Love Hazelxox

Busy Afternoon making cards.

Gosh don't know about where you are but it is very windy here in Arbroath today. Its a shame as Jake wanted to go out on his bike but couldn't due to the high winds. I have made 2 cards and an ATC for some challenges so here we go with them.

This is for Tilda and Friends where the challenge was to make an ATC "One for the Boys" Thought Edwin looked like he might like to play on the beach so here he is with his ball.

This one is for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge where it is Have your Cake and Eat it. Well you can't have a birthday without a cake and wee Candyfloss is holding a really yummy looking one.

This card is done using the sketch from Sketch Saturday and can also be entered into the Lili of the Valley Challenge which is Mothers Day. I didn't use any LOTV stuff on it. Sorry :-((
This is for my Mum to give to Granny for her Mothers Day next week. Gosh time is flying and I really must get mine done too.
Well off to do some housework now. Just feel like I am going round in circles again today. Grrr I have another card to make for my Mum but it is a Sympathy one and I am struggling with it. Sometimes they are so hard to make. Think it is cause I was out at Granny's this morning and am thinking about my Grandad a lot now. Tom said he would be cold in the garden and now I just keep thinking of him. (His ashes are in the garden as it was his pride and joy). It is getting easier as the time goes by but we all still miss him loads. I have stopped reading about poor Jade Goody as it is bringing things back to me about his last few days. Gosh it is 7 months ago but feels like yesterday at times.
Anyway sorry for the moan.
Have a lovely Saturday whatever you are up too.

Sketch Saturday Card Challenge.

This is my card for the Sketch over on Sketch Saturday. It is for my neighbours who are moving on Friday. Its a Good Luck and Thank You card as Tom is getting Callums bed this morning and they have been great friends too. They are going to live in a caravan until they raise the rest of the money to emigrate. They sold their house and were glad to have due to the financial climate and just took the asking price so have to save until about June then off to Oz. So I thought this card was good with the Folks at the Caravan.
  • Card Stock
  • Jolly Nation Papers and Decoupage
  • Pink Card and Blue Paper from stash
  • Peel off
  • Floradoodle Flowers.

Well Off now to spend the day sorting and getting the new bed for Tom. He was really excited as he thought he was getting the toys that were under the bed too. Hee hee.

Sketch Saturday and Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge.

Happy Valentines Day.
I have combined these 2 challenges this week as I have now got to make a card for Alan at some point in the day so thought I would get this done first. Argh I didn't expect to receive a Valentine card so it was a nice surprise to get it.
The theme on Secret Crafter this week is "Spring has Sprung" and I think of Daffodils straight away when it comes to spring. I love to see them popping their heads out of the ground and coming up and brightening the garden. We have some sprouting already and my snowdrops are in bloom. Its lovely.
  • Standard Light Green Card
  • See -D 's Daffodil Stamp
  • Papermania Bubble Embellishment
  • Paper Double sided from Red Hot Bed
  • Derwent Watercolour Pencils

Well off to chill out now as we are going to one of Alan's friends houses tonight for a karaoke and I get in such a tizzy with going out. We have also been up since 6am with Jake. Bad ADHD day. He is away out on his bike so that should use up some of the energy. Wish I could bottle it and sell it. LOL Have a lovely Valentines Day all,

Sketch Saturday Card Challenge.

The sketch this week is by Jeanette. I really liked using it. I didn't do many of the weekend challenges last week as I had that stinky flu so good to be back at them today.
I had to make a card for Nikki who works for Alan as she had a baby on Thursday. Alan only knows it was a girl and she was big!!! Typical male not knowing any of the important stuff!!! LOL
I love this Penny Black stamp which I got on Ebay. It is so sweet for a new baby card.
  • Card from QVC (Seemingly like Bazzill Bling)
  • 6x6 Card
  • Penny Black Stamp
  • Brads from stash
  • DCWV Sticker
  • Derwent Watercolour Pencils and Aqua Pro markers

Well the forecast is for snow again but surprise surprise there is none here although the sky is very dark with clouds and its blooming chilly. I have just given up on getting any snow. Hope everyone who has the white stuff is safe and cosy.

Sketch Saturday/ Part 2 of Forever Friends.

Over On Sketch Saturday the sketch is being sponsored by Emma Lockley. She is an independent Stampin Up demonstrator and has loads on offer for 1 lucky winner.
Also my card on Forever Friends was really basic the other day and I said I would make another one. Their theme was ribbons, so the paper ribbon I have on this card might just count!
  • 5.5 x 5.5 Card
  • Forever Friends Papers
  • Paper From Stash
  • Forever Friends Stamp.
  • Adirondack Ink in Mushroom and Wild Plum
  • Embellishments from stash.

I love what happens to Adirondack when you add water to it. It makes such a yummy watercolour. Well off to make my Spiced Pea Soup for tea. Enjoy the rest of the weekend

Sketch Saturday Card Challenge.

Here is my card for the Sketch Saturday Challenge. I'm not sure about this one. Sometimes you just aren't sure about the colours. I have used a mixture of K and Company and HOTP papers and embellishments.

  • HOTP Papers

Sketch Saturday Card Challenge.

Over on Sketch Saturday there is an open challenge this week. It was to choose one of the previous sketches, so I chose sketch number 5 from way back in June. I liked the look of it and thought I would give it a go.
I have used my Sarah Kay Stamp and coloured it in with my Derwent watercolour pencils. I used a floral sheet from a Pocket Full of Posies from DCWV as the background. I then used co-ordinations Black magic for the matting and the circles, which I made with my new circle cutter from Fiskars. I aged all the papers with a file and added ribbon and peel offs from my stash to finish it off.
I changed my mind about the card I was going to give to my Mum for her birthday and think I might give her this one now. Well off to play some more with my new stuff.

Sketch Saturday Card Challenge.

Gosh I have been so busy this morning so have just got onto the computer now. Still got all the housework to do so will make this a wee post. This is my card for the Sketch Saturday Challenge.
I have used Kanban Elegant Ladies card and paper for this card. The peel off and gold dot ribbon is from my stash.
I hope you like it, I'm not to sure of it now, think I should have used a contrasting colour instead of all blues but never mind. Well off to make the beds (I know its after lunchtime!) Also need to sort out washing. I have been to the butchers and the shops this morning and my car is all shiny and clean too. I have even got a full screen wash tank and the antifreeze is topped up too. Argh the other week I must have had a hole in the radiator and had zero antifreeze going round it. Ooops I worked in the motor trade for 6 years so I should have known better. Anyway enough waffle, Have a great day
