Moving Along with the Times DT Card.

Clare C's Sketch and No Stamps Theme!

Over on MAWTT this week Clare set us this hard task of no stamping with the cards we made.. Now I initially thought that would be easy but then started to think about my card and then it got harder and harder!!! Pop over and join in the fun with us. The prize this week is a Guest Designer Spot for a fortnight!

So this is my card for our challenge. I am going to enter it into some other challenges too as I don't seem to have much in the way of mojo at the moment so am cheating!LOL

Our schools come off tomorrow for a fortnights holidays so I will have the boys at home to keep me company.

Daring Cardmakers Challenge.

Over on Daring Cardmakers the Challenge was to make a Card with a Fish or Frog on it. I have made an ATC, I hope that counts.
I used Acetate to stamp the fishys and then waited patiently for it to dry. Mixed some glitters to look pretty and gave that to the big ones as bodies, coloured the rest in with Sakura Metallic pens. The wee ones are on shrink plastic to hide where i glued the acetate down. I stupidly put some glue on the middle and it has splodged the fin on the bottom one. Oops. The water is some pastel paper which I distressed and then washed with a metallic pen. Finally I used my new clear embossing powder to make the Gone Fishing sign. Hope you like it.
  • ATC
  • Pastel Paper
  • Acetate
  • See-D's Stamps
  • Shrink Plastic
  • Embossing Powder
  • Ink Pads Metallic Blue and Black
  • Sakura Pens and Glitter.

Don't know what to do for the rest of the day, I have just been pottering about with the embossing powders, acetate and the pens to see what I come up with. Saving my energy for tomorrow as Tom is getting a new bed so all hands on deck to sort out his room.

2 in 1 Friday Sketchers and Daring Cardmakers

This is a combination of 2 challenges. The sketch is from Friday sketchers and the Dare over on Daring Card makers was Feeling Green. Which you had to make the card mostly with greens. This was not a colour I use a lot of so it was a great change from the norm. I am going to give this card to my Mum as she has been great again this week with taking poor Tai to the Vet while I struggle on with this stupid agoraphobia. Mind you I did manage to go to their house this morning and put out the washing, it is only about half a mile away so that's a start.
  • Card, Papers and Ribbon Brenda Pinnack
  • Magnolia Stamp
  • Aqua Pro markers and Sakura Pens
  • Peel Off from Stash

Well Hubby is off out again tonight (there's a surprise) so just me and the boys in. Don't know what to do as nothing much on T.V.

Daring Card Makers Challenge.

Sue is treating us on Daring Cardmakers this week to a Take Away. I dare you to make an Oriental themed card which doesn’t use Red or Black. Oriental wtake away red and black. The cards from the DT look lovely so pop over to have a look. http://daringcardmakers.blogspot.com/
The symbol on this card comes from a peel off which I copied. It is meant to say Flower. I used a Sepia Marvy Le Plum for it so no black at all.
  • 5x5 square cream hammered card
  • Peach Co-ordinations card stock free with magazine
  • Oriental Stickers from E-Bay
  • Symbol from peel off

Well I am having a tired day as yesterday turned out to be quite stressful. However things will hopefully be on the up now. (For Jake and Me!) I live in hope. We just had a wee flurry of snow there so might get some for the weekend.

Daring Cardmakers Challenge.

The challenge this week on Daring Cardmakers was to recycle. "We'd like you to do your bit for the planet and make a card using some recycled items.Yes, we know we've done similar challenges in the past, but some things are good to revisit and this is one of them - it gets us looking at stuff we might be throwing away and asking ourselves if there's some card-making mileage to be had from it.And besides, it's FREE! If you can use something rescued from Christmas rubbish (scraps from cards, decorations etc) - then you get double points! lol"
So here is my recycled card. This is where I started out cardmaking when I was a little girl. My Mum would have cut out bits from the cards of the previous year and I would make cards for my Granny's. I felt like a wee girl again doing this. Hee hee.
The backing paper is gift wrap which my Mum had Alan and I's hamper wrapped up in. The tree is from a card I received. I managed to prize it off the original card and the backing 3 D foam was left intact so kept it on. I used some glitter glue to make it a bit more sparkly. The peel off is from my stash. Hope you like my recycled card.
  • Gift Wrap
  • Recycled Embellishment.
  • Peel Offs coloured with peel off marker.
  • 3-D Foam

Daring Cardmakers Challenge.

I was having a look at all the challenge blogs and came across Daring Card makers so thought I would give it a go this week. The challenge was to make a thank you card.
I have used one of my new Forever Friends stamps and also for the first time my aqua pro markers. I am quite pleased with the effect although I will have to keep practising with them. The paper is also Forever Friends and the peel off is from my stash. Hope you like it.
Well the house is almost back to normal. I can't bear to take the tree down but there are 2 days left till 12th night so everything else is away but it is still up in the living room.
