Tilda and Friends ATC Challenge - Paper Piecing
I am so sad as the Tilda and Friends Challenge is going to be stopping running as they have more DT members than people taking part. Its a shame as I enter it every week. :-((( I have used my stamp I received last week from Caz over at it for winning the September Draw. Its a Greetings Farm Image and I think she is so sweet. Thanks again Girls.xo
The piecing on the ATC is her Dress, hairclasp and books.
Recipe
  • ATC
  • Greetings Farm Stamp (Annika)
  • Paper free from Magazine
  • Ribbon and brown card From Stash

Fabs Big Christmas Card Challenge - Baubles!
Believe it or not this took me longer to dot hat the ATC above it with its cutting out but I used co-ordination Peel Offs and filled in the blacks with the silver peel off spares so it took a while and a lot of concentration!!! Although its simple it is stunning!
Recipe
  • Tall Card
  • Peel Offs from Francoise Read by Woodware
  • Ribbon From Stash

Well I will be back later with my Moving Along with the Times thing for this week and also some ATCs from a swap I run. Hope you are all having a Fabby Thursday.

In Flanders Fields......

ABC - Embossing
Colour Create- Red, White, Black and Yellow (Option of Flowers)
Rainbow Lady's Challenge - Poppies
Cute Card Thursday - So Charming.
The reason I have put In Flanders Fields is as every time I think of Poppies I think of this poem by John McCrae. I will pop it on at the end of this post. We had to learn it in Primary 5 at the school so that was 1984 and it has always stuck with me!!
Recipe
  • Old CD
  • Embossed Black Card(It is embossed honest!!! Thanks Jackie)
  • Gorjuss Stamp (Poppy Fields)
  • Coloured with Watercolour Paint and Sakura Pen
  • Ribbon, Peel Off, charm and flowers from stash.
I stuck the charm above the Gorjuss Girl to have a shooting star as an emblem of hope in the poppy field. The embossing was from sizzix but it hasn't really come up well on the picture. If you click on it to enlarge it you can see it more clearly!
Right off to get on with the afternoon. I am sooooo sleepy today as I have had a busy morning with my Worry Woman and also didn't really get much sleep last night so my fingers are all over the shop!!! LOL Thank goodness for the spell checker.
Its very windy here today but also right cold again!
Here it the poem In Flanders Fields for you to have a wee look at.

In Flanders Fields
by John McCrae, May 1915

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses,
row on row,
That mark our place;
and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing,fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead.
Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved,
and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

2 in 1 Fat Cat Card.

This card fills the challenge for 2 blogs. First is Cute Card Thursday where it is Animal Magic and the Second it the sketch for Friday Sketchers. I have used a rectangular card instead of square but that is the only thing different.
Think this might be a thanks for fattening up the Cat card. Isn't he so sweet. He reminds me of Cheekie the Cat who we had a few years ago. Gosh he was a fatty.

  • Thank Yopu stamp

Cute Card Thursday and Friday Sketchers.

I seem to not have enough hours in the day just now. Think it is because the kids are ill and I am running on an almost empty tank. Hurray Tom is sleeping over at his Grans tonight so I will get a full nights sleep and will feel refreshed in the morning. I have been getting an average of 4 hours sleep in the last week with Tom coughing and then before that with the Poor Pussy Cat.
Tonight I have combined these 2 challenges. I love the sketch over on Friday Sketchers and haven't had time to do their challenge for a bit. Its the same with Cute Card Thursday. Their challenge was "Signs of Spring". Well Rabbits and Daffodils are a sign of spring but I haven't seen them like this before. Might need to go to the Opticians if I did. LOL.
  • 6x6 Card
  • Image Penny Black bought on Ebay
  • Derwent Watercolour pencils
  • Papers from stash, patterned one free in magazine
  • HOTP Stamped Sentiment
  • Embellishments free from magazine.

Well off to blog hop now. I really enjoyed making this card as I had no interruptions and just had fun. Think I quite often make really simple cards due to the kids coming and interrupting all the time. Have a lovely Friday nite

Cute Card Thursday.

You had to create a Landscape on the Cute Card Challenge this week. I used this stamp on Monday night at craft club. (It was learning to do things night and Liz the Tutor brought loads of stuff in for us to try out) I don't know who it is by so if you know then let me. Thanks.
I stamped it using a rock-a block with adirondack ink. When I came home I used my own adirondack to smudge round the top and bottom. I sprinkled on some stickles glitter glue in icicle for the snow. It has sat on my craft desk for a couple of days then this challenge came up so I thought I would use it. I hope you like it.
  • A5 Card
  • Stamp
  • Adirondack Ink Pads
  • Royal Langnickel Winter Transfer

2 Challenges in 1 Card.

Sorry I hate doing this but I am so busy just now that I have combined 2 challenge cards into one. :-(
The ABC Challenge this week was V for Violet, and over on Cute Card Thursday it was to use something new which you received for Christmas.
So I have used a purple opalescent card stock which I got at Christmas. I then used a new Forever Friends Stamp which I got at just after Christmas from QVC. I coloured it in using my Promarkers which I got for Christmas. I made the sentiment myself but not with a Christmas gift. I used a Galaxy Marker in Venus Violet!! I hope it looks OK as I just wrote it myself. Going to send this card to Cazz with the ATC's for my swap inside as I always like to send her a wee card so look out for the purple envelope in the post!!!
  • DL Card Purple Opalescent
  • Forever Friends Stamp
  • Handmade Paper
  • Aqua Pro Markers
  • Glitter Glue
  • Galaxy Marker

Well off to more housework. I don't know where it is all coming from. I have all Jake's bits and pieces to sort out from his holiday. He didn't want to go back to school today. Don't blame him.

Cute Card Thursday.

There was no theme this week on the Cute Card Thursday blog so I decided to make my BIL's Birthday card, His birthday is on the 30th and if I didn't make it now I would forget.
I used a peel off and coloured it with my Galaxy Markers, I then cut it out and stuck it on black card stock. I next used a scrap of dovecraft paper to put down the middle. Peel offs were used to line the edges and also for the text. Finally I used some glitter glue for the spots on the side.
Well today I have another Challenge card to make and also some wee gift bags for some sweets for pressies. Its really windy here. So Jake won't be able to go out on his bike like yesterday, he went miles with his friend. Great fun.
Bye for now Hazel xox
