Fabs Big Christmas Card Challenge. Week 14.

Gosh this week has just flown by. I haven't had time to make cards what with doing a huge spring clean and feeling poorly. So last night I spent some time making up for lost time.
Here is my card for Fabs Big Christmas Card challenge. This is what Fab wanted us to do this week. "This week I wanted to create something with some tall card stock I have and I thought it would make it a bit different than the usual square card, so there you have it a TALL card can be used for your Christmas card this week. Or if you have some red, green or Xmas themed brads you're dying to use then, I've answered your prayers ! wink."
  • Tall Card
  • HOTP Stamp and Brad Buddies
  • Sakura pens and Watercolour pencils.

Fab also has a blog candy this week which is a book which he recommends. Pop over to have a look. Link on my sidebar.

Right off to post some more cards now

Forever Friends and Fabs Christmas Card Challenge.

Over on the Forever Friends Challenge this week it was a sketch by Jo. Fabs challenge this week is to make a card with swirls and gems. I have combined the 2 as I am quite busy this week with other bits a pieces so hope you don't mind.
  • Standard Card
  • HOTP Papers and Brads.
  • Forever Friends Sticker
  • Dawn Bibby Peel Off
  • Gems from stash
Alan's cousin is getting Married in 3 weeks and I said on Saturday I would make a ring cushion for them so have been doodling with it most of the day and working out what to do for it. I made the one for Alan and I's wedding as Jake was my ring bearer. I thought I had better have the rings in a safe place knowing Jake LOLOLOL. That is nearly 7 years ago and styles have changes so doing something different. Will show it off once its done. Also have blog candy to make for the lucky folks who put their names down for my candy the other week. Then there is the New Challenge Daisy and Dandelion starting on Thursday and being part of the DT will want to make a fabby card with the stuff I have for it.
Finally Remember Jake is getting his hair cut big style on Thursday for Comic Relief. If you would like to donate there is the link. He certainly needs a haircut. Hope it gets warmer as he is going to be cold with a no 2!!!!

Papertake Weekly Challenge

It was a sketch by the talented Dawny P over on papertake weekly. I retrieved the picture from the puddle of wee by Jess. (See Next post down for the details ) . Thank Goodness she missed it as I have paper pieced the presents so they don't look Christmassy. Cheating I know but I love this stamp and my Aunt who is going to get the card from my Mum will too. She used to love Hollie Hobby when I was wee. I turned the sketch 90 degrees so that the image would fit better.
  • 6x6 Card
  • Papers From HOTP
  • Sarah Kay Stamp.
  • Aqua Promarkers
  • Scraps of paper for the presents
  • Peel Off
Well off to decide which challenge to do next as Tom has gone to my neighbours house to play. They move in a fortnight so he will miss his little buddy Callum. So getting all the playing done now.

Cupcake Craft Challenge.

Over on the Cupcake Challenge this week you had to make a Cupcake Blog Inspired card.
I have used paper that I got free from a magazine.. The brown paper is HOTP. The image comes from a CD which I got free with a magazine the other day. My printer is rubbish and so the image is not as good as I hoped for. I used beaded glitter for the hundreds and thousands on the cupcake. Mmmm yummy.
Hope you like it, Have a good Day all,

Papertake Weekly Challenge

The Challenge on Papertake Weekly is Monochrome this week, So I chose pink.
I have used a Penny Black Stampby Margaret /Sherry. I bought this last year for my Mums birthday card as Tilly her cat always goes into the washing.
I used Adirondack in wild plum to stamp and then colour washed some of it. I also used a cut and dry nib for some bits. The ribbon is from my stash and the celebrate stamp if from HOTP. It is windy here today but dry so got washing out, just away to go blog hopping for a bit then on with the housework.

Cupcake Craft Challenge.

Hi, this is the sketch for this weeks Cupcake Challenge. I have made Jake's teachers card with it so hope she likes it.
I used HOTP paper and acetate wording for the image. I held it together with 4 brads. The peel off and ribbon comes from my stash. I went round the outlines to make them bolder with Adirondack ink in denim blue.
Gosh I am tired. I have had Toms friend round for the afternoon, just collected them from Nursery at 11.30 then home for some fun.
I had my crafty club last nigh and will upload the pictures of my 2 cards later from it. I am always really tired after that as it takes loads out of me going out of the house to somewhere I am not comfortable in for 2 hours. It was great fun though.

2 Challenges in 1 Card.

Well I don't usually do this but with so many other things going on I have merged 2 challenges into 1 Card. They are the Secret Crafter, http://thesecretcraftersaturdaychallenge.blogspot.com/
Dry or Heat Embossing
and Stamp Something,
This week's challenge is simple....stamp something with snow. It can be something made of snow, something that likes snow or something that reminds you of snow. Anything really that's more fun that shoveling snow!!
So I have a Christmas Tree which always makes me think of winter and snow. The heat embossing is on the tinsel and the star.
I have to say that I am totally rubbish at embossing heat and dry and the dry embossed card I made went in the bin!!!!!! I didn't know what to do so then decided to have some embossed tinsel on my wee tree.
The paper is from HOTP and I matted the tree with silver mirri board. The gems are from my stash. Hope you like it. Sorry there is not more embossing but like I say I am not too good at it, must do more to get the hang of it. Well away to write more cards, only 30 to go,

ABC Challenge.

Well I have made 3 cards for challenges now as starting to feel less tired and shaky. Hope I won't feel much in the way of anxiety over the next couple of days.
This is the ABC Card . The challenge was S is for Snow.
I have used a Kanban Christmas concept cards for this one. I love the image of Santa with the snowman. I cut out a piece of card also from the kit to have as the background. I have decided I want punches for Christmas as my cutting out of circles is not the best. I used a few gems to make it pretty and a piece of ribbon from my stash. The stamp is a HOTP one from a kit I have.
Right onto the next two. I will post them individually.

A Spoonful of Sugar Challenge.

This week the c
This week the challenge over at A spoonful of sugar was a sketch by Michelle O. The DT cards are lovely so hop on over for a look.
I have taken my inspiration for this card from my morning job today. I was clearing up the leaves in the front garden. Boy what a lot there was and still is as I would be there till Christmas if I picked them all up!!!!
I have used peel offs I got the other week in a kit from QVC. I backed them with mulberry paper then cut them out. The backing papers were free in a magazine ages ago. The happy birthday is a HOTP stamp, I used a dew drop ink pad to stamp it. Finally just used a wee drop of brown ribbon to finish it off, Very seasonal.

Forever Friends Challenge.

This is my take on the Forever Friends Challenge this week. I hope it is OK as can't really see the image very well but have followed the DT cards. They are all fab as usual.
I have used a Forever Friends sticker which I mattwed up with HOTP paper and silver mirri board. Then on the left side have used some HOTP papers. I put a flower on the side too with stickles glitter glue to jazz it up. The Merry Christmas is a peel off from my stash and the border is just a bit of card which was lying about which I matted up with the silver again.
I have made about 5 cards for my Mum and Dads Christmas and every one I have thought no I don't like it but I think I might give them this as it is really pretty. I have made all sorts from pop up to waterfall and it was doing my nut in, funny how you just know when card is right!
